How to Buy USDT with Naira
The usual way to buy USDT with naira is P2P. You choose a seller's ad, place an order, pay naira to the seller's bank account, and the platform releases the USDT to you after the seller confirms. Never pay outside the order, and never pay a third party.
Why USDT first?
Most crypto markets quote prices in dollars. USDT is a token designed to track the US dollar, so it is the usual first step: naira → USDT → Bitcoin. See What Is USDT?.
The methods

Step by step with P2P
- Make sure your account is verified and secured. See How to Sign Up on Bybit.
- Open P2P, choose Buy, USDT, and NGN.
- Compare ads. Look at price, limits, completion rate and payment method. See Bybit P2P in Naira.
- Enter the amount and place the order.
- Pay the exact amount to the account shown in the order. The account name should match the seller's verified name.
- Tap Payment Completed only after you have actually paid.
- Wait for the seller to release the USDT. Do not cancel after you have paid.

Each ad shows its own minimum and a payment time limit, often 15 or 30 minutes. On 12 October 2026, many NGN ads started at around ₦4,500 to ₦5,000. Once the USDT arrives, you can keep it on the exchange for now. Moving it to your own wallet makes sense only once you understand networks, because a wrong choice can lose the coins (Crypto Wallets Explained).
Safety rules
- Pay only the account in the order. Ignore requests to pay someone else.
- Do not leave the platform chat for WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Be suspicious of prices far below others.
